Diversity, gender equity and work-life balance drive top 15 ranking
Fortune and Great Place to Work have recognized EY as one of the country’s Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services. The firm stood apart from its peers in employee training and leadership, as well as diversity and gender equality.
“Time and time again, our people and clients tell us that our diverse workforce and culture bring out the best results in our business. That is unique among advisory and consulting firms of our size,” said Anna Bourne, partner, Ernst & Young LLP and EY Americas Advisory Talent Leader. “This honor is the result of decades of investment in our people and their experiences, on being the kind of place our people want to come back to every day.”
Bob Patton, EY Americas Vice Chair for Advisory Services, agreed: “At EY, we believe our role – our legacy – is to help everyone work better. This begins with our 240,000 people. The insights and quality services they deliver drive stability to capital markets, transform industries, and improve business and communities the world over. To drive their clients’ purpose forward while realizing their own is a remarkable and a highly motivating opportunity.”
A number of unique workplace programs and initiatives contributed to the selection of EY, including:
- Career and Family Transitions Coaching Program: EY helps moms and dads proactively plan for transition needs before, during and after they bring a child into the family through birth, adoption, surrogacy, foster care or legal guardianship. To date, more than 600 moms and dads have participated in the program.
- Global NextGen: A two year program for rising senior managers, its goal is to enhance participants’ global mindset so they become more connected, inspired and inspiring, and market focused. Now in its fourth year, the current class includes 275 senior managers, 48 coaches and 48 partner sponsors.
- People Advisory Forum: This committee provides senior executives with an ongoing opportunity to hear directly from a cross-section of employees on all matters affecting the firm. More than 20 non-partners of varying ethnicity, level, practice, geography and years of service currently serve as members and report to leadership.
“It’s no secret that the value of a professional services organization lies in its people,” said Great Place to Work’s Executive Vice President Kim Peters. “The Best Workplaces invest in their staff’s knowledge and wellbeing, creating a high degree of trust that’s reflected in their work for clients.”
