EY’s Karen Correa Named by Consulting Magazine as a Rising Star
New York, 13 March 2018
Correa recognized for influencing the future of the consulting profession
Each year, Consulting Magazine highlights the best young talent in the profession with its Rising Stars award. Karen Correa, a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young LLP’s Advisory Cybersecurity practice, has been named as one of 35 Consulting Magazine’s 2018 Rising Stars of the Profession, earning her a coveted spot on a list of people shaping the future of consulting.
In the EY Advisory Cybersecurity practice, Correa has assisted organizations with cybersecurity transformation programs, third party risk management and security governance and policies, helping clients see the connection between cyber and strategic business objectives.
“In an incredibly high-stakes field, Karen has engendered trust and built relationships that help our clients recognize cybersecurity is an issue that should not be kept in an IT silo. It’s a larger, business-risk issue, and Karen’s leadership translates to real value, helping our clients create solutions for their most formidable cybersecurity challenges,” said Amy Brachio, EY Global and Americas Advisory Risk Leader. “In addition, she’s a staunch advocate for the advancement of women, demonstrating great leadership in the EY Women in Cyber and Professional Women’s Network.”
With over 12 years of cybersecurity experience with the firm, Correa focuses on solving the complex issues facing clients in the Life Sciences and Health sectors. She currently leads global solution and thought leadership development on cybersecurity risk dashboards, bringing insights to Boards and CISO organizations on the same. She is also an active member of industry groups including the National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (NH-ISAC) and Executive Women’s Forum (EWF).
“In this rapidly-evolving transformative age – when innovative, disruptive technologies pose brand new security risks by the second, and the dynamic cyber landscape constantly presents new threats – we are partnering with organizations as they protect their business. It’s an honor to be recognized for the work we are doing to safeguard our clients’ enterprises and what matters most to them as part of the EY Advisory Cybersecurity team,” said Correa.
Correa received a Master’s from Indiana University, as well as a Bachelor’s from Indiana State University. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
