EY comment on Black Friday sales

Julie Carlyle, Head of Retail at EY UK & Ireland, says:

“Black Friday will continue to change shade over time as the focus moves increasingly to online sales. There is a broadening disparity amongst retailers on the ways they choose to engage with the phenomenon, with many making strategic decisions much later that depend on very recent trading and stock levels. The main objective is to protect the ever pressured margin.”
