EY has appointed 62 equity Partners to its UK business, including 33 internally promoted Partners and 29 direct entry Partners from its competitors and industry. EY says the appointments reflect its confidence in the future and ability to help clients achieve their ambitions, even in these uncertain times.

Steve Varley, UK Chairman, EY, says: "I would like to congratulate all our new equity Partners. This is a significant achievement for each individual and a vote of confidence in their leadership. We have big ambitions for our business and our new Partners have an important role to play in helping us achieve them.

“These appointments reflect EY’s strong pipeline of high quality people, whose wealth of experience and talent enables us to respond to the global demands of our clients in a complex environment.”

Of the 62 Partners appointed over the last year 29% (just one point shy of the firm’s 30% rolling target) are women and 15% are from a Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) background – exceeding EY’s 10% target.

Maggie Stilwell, Managing Partner for Talent, UK & Ireland at EY comments: “We have worked hard to create an inclusive culture, where all our people are able to fulfil their potential. Diverse mind-sets, behaviours and actions deliver competitive advantage and achieve better business results. We want to create an environment where all of our people feel valued and are able to bring their whole self and their different perspectives to work each day. We continue to be committed to the diversity targets that we announced in 2013, and these drive much of our focus day to day creating an inclusive environment for all.

“I am pleased with our progress so far and believe that it confirms our status as a destination professional services employer for female and BME talent. But we remain restless for more progress and to extend this leadership position. Our strategy for the coming years and planned activities will help with this ambition.”

Steve concludes: “We have many talented people at EY and this year’s new Partner appointments reflect our high performing culture and our ability to deliver exceptional client service. Our new Partners all have the drive, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit that will enable us to achieve our bold ambitions and build a better working world.”
